Invisible string

With Matt’s family living in McKinney, Texas and Matt going to school at the University of Ottawa in Canada, it’s not hard to believe that some version of fate brought him to New Jersey for an internship at a company called Commvault, where Anna, who was living in NJ and attending the University of Delaware, was also planning on spending her summer as a rising college Senior.

The two were introduced by Malthe Helt, an intern on the same Marketing team with Anna, and Matts childhood best friend, and quickly crushes bloomed!

They spent that summer flirting, stealing kisses, learning about one another, and taking advantage of every opportunity to share the same space. Anna and Matt decided to make it official as boyfriend and girlfriend the day before they said their goodbyes to one another prior to returning to college for their final year.

For the next year as they wrapped up their degrees, Anna and Matt missed one another terribly. They spent their long distance year alternating visiting each other at their respective schools, meeting families, assimilating into friend groups, becoming best friends, and making plans for what the future looked like for them post graduation.

After college, Anna and Matt made the move to New York City, where they settled into a small apartment in the heart of Nolita. With new beginnings, came new friends — they adopted the cat they’ve always talked about, Ferdinand, a very silly, chunky, and snuggly orange tabby cat.

Over the years, the three of them grew up together, from young kids in a big city… to just a bit older of kids in a big city now living on the Upper East Side.

The Proposal

Matt proposed to Anna in Central Park on 11/11/2023 after six years of dating and months of planning with friends and family.

It was perfect.
